Hello,

Since yesterday, I have tried many different methods to generate Pattern Keeper compatible files, but in every case Pattern Keeper failed to recognize the color codes automatically. As a result, I had to add all color codes manually.

I would appreciate your help with this issue, as automatic color recognition is very important for creating a smooth user experience.

As a suggestion, it would be great to add a dedicated "Pattern Keeper" option to the PDF export settings. When this option is selected, the exported PDF could be generated in a fully Pattern Keeper compatible format, ensuring that color codes and symbols are recognized correctly without requiring any manual adjustments.

    Hi — it’s shipped, and built the way you suggested.


    Tick Export for Pattern Keeper at the top of the export settings and that's the whole job: no options to work through, and you get your chart on one sheet plus the thread key. Colour codes and symbols import automatically now — no manual entry.


    You weren't doing anything wrong, for the record. Pattern Keeper reads the chart out of the PDF text layer, and our symbols were in a font range that extracts as no text at all, so nothing you tried could have worked. Fixed.

    One caveat: Pattern Keeper doesn't support backstitch or partial stitches, so those are left out (we'll tell you the exact counts before you download, and you can opt to convert partials to full stitches). Your normal export still has everything.
